The Barolo DOCG - Rocche di Castiglione from Sordo winery is a prestigious red wine, internationally acclaimed for its extraordinary elegance and complexity. Produced in the heart of Piedmont, in the specific area of Castiglione Falletto, this Barolo stands out for its unique character, largely due to the specific climatic conditions and the quality of the soil in this sub-zone.

When talking about Barolo Rocche di Castiglione, one evokes a wine that results from a careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes, renowned for their ability to transform through skilled vinification and long aging into wines of great structure and longevity. The vineyards where these grapes are grown are characterized by calcareous marl soils that impart distinctive mineral notes to the wine.

Vinification follows the Barolo tradition, with a long maceration of the skins to extract maximum colors, aromas, and tannins. This is followed by aging for at least 38 months, 18 of which are in wooden barrels, further refining the wine's character.

On the nose, the Barolo DOCG - Rocche di Castiglione - Sordo opens with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, intertwined with notes of tobacco, leather, and light hints of chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful yet balanced, with robust but velvety tannins and a persistent finish that leaves room for aftertastes of spices and dried fruit.

Perfectly paired with rich dishes such as braised meats, game, or aged cheeses, this Barolo represents an excellent choice for any collector looking to enrich their cellar with a wine of unquestionable quality and typicity.

Winery history
The estate is led by the Bricolo family: parents Alberta and Roberto started the business, and it is now managed by their daughter Roberta. Over the years the facilities have been expanded with architectural additions focused on hospitality and wine tourism.
Production philosophy
The company's philosophy centers on organic viticulture and sustainability: the organic approach is regarded as an indispensable choice to safeguard health and the land and to enhance the relationship between soil, vine and climate, with winemaking planned already in the vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the moraine hills around the village of Custoza, in the municipality of Sommacampagna, on glacially derived soils rich in pebbles and calcium carbonate, which impart minerality and salinity to the wines, typical of the Lake Garda area.
