The Terre Siciliane PGI "Nanuci" by Le Casematte is a wine that embodies the richness and diversity of the Sicilian wine scene, bringing into the bottle the essence of a territory unique in terms of history, culture and nature. Located in the suggestive area of the Strait of Messina, the Le Casematte winery stands out for its ability to enhance the native Sicilian vines through respectful agricultural practices and an oenological approach that aims to enhance the varietal characteristics and the expression of the terroir.

"Nanuci" represents a tribute to the Sicilian land and its fruits, carefully selecting the grapes to produce a wine that reflects the aromatic intensity and richness of flavors that only this sunny island can offer. The name itself, "Nanuci", evokes a deep connection with the land and its traditions, celebrating the Sicilian identity and its winemaking heritage.

The vinification of Terre Siciliane PGI "Nanuci" follows a careful path to preserve the freshness and authenticity of the grapes, with a controlled temperature fermentation that allows the aromas and varietal characteristics to be kept intact. The refinement, carried out mainly in steel, helps to preserve the liveliness and purity of the fruit, resulting in a wine that clearly expresses the typical notes of Sicilian vines.

Visually, the "Nanuci" presents itself with a bright and lively color, which immediately invites tasting. On the nose, the wine offers an intense and varied aromatic bouquet, with notes of ripe Mediterranean fruits, floral accents and a light spiciness, which reflect the complexity of the Sicilian terroir. In the mouth, the wine surprises with its freshness and drinkability, with a perfect harmony between acidity and body, and fruity flavors that are renewed in the finish, leaving a pleasant sensation of cleanliness and persistence.

Ideal as an aperitif or paired with a wide range of dishes, from seafood to ethnic cuisine, through light appetizers and vegetable-based dishes, the Terre Siciliane PGI "Nanuci" by Le Casematte is an excellent choice for those who want to explore the uniqueness and variety of Sicilian wines, offering a tasting experience that is both authentic and innovative.

Winery history
Le Casematte began as an enological project founded by Gianfranco Sabbatino and Andrea Barzagli with the aim of raising the profile of the Faro appellation. The name comes from the presence, within the vineyards, of two casematte visible in the landscape; the venture is presented as a meeting between local tradition and modern winemaking choices.
Production philosophy
Small-scale, terroir-focused production: the producer favors indigenous grape varieties and low‑impact farming practices, limiting the use of new oak in aging to preserve freshness and a sense of place in the wines.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards on the hills of Contrada Corso, on the heights north of Messina overlooking the Strait of Messina, at an altitude of around 500 metres above sea level. The microclimate is influenced by sea breezes between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas, with pronounced day–night temperature variations that promote the aromatic development of the grapes.
Awards and recognitions
The winery and some of its vintages have received ratings and recognition from guides and critics; praise has appeared in publications and among retailers.
