On the nose, Mark Haisma's Gevrey-Chambertin offers complex notes of black cherry, licorice, and a subtle hint of damp earth, typical of the region. On the palate, the wine is robust yet elegant, with well-integrated tannins and a vivid acidic freshness leading to a long and persistent finish. Aging in French oak barrels contributes to a well-balanced structure and slightly toasted notes that intertwine perfectly with the fruit.
