The "Grand Cuvée" is an exclusive selection that aims to bring out the best of the expressive capabilities of Pinot Noir, with grapes coming from the most prestigious plots of the Sancerre vineyards, where the calcareous soil and exposure favor optimal maturation and concentration of aromas and flavors. This special cuvée, dedicated to the memory of Comte Lafond, ancestor of Baron De Ladoucette and historical figure of viticulture in the Loire Valley, is the result of vinification and aging designed to enhance the unique characteristics of the terroir and the grape variety.

The "Comte Lafond Grand Cuvée" stands out for its aromatic depth and elegant structure. The carefully monitored winemaking process and the refinement in new or second passage French oak barrels allow the wine to acquire complexity without losing the freshness and varietal typicality that characterize Sancerre Pinot Noir.

Visually, the wine shows an intense ruby ​​red color, with reflections that tend towards garnet with evolution. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, with notes of berries, cherries, raspberries and wild strawberries, accompanied by nuances of spices, undergrowth and an elegant woody touch that adds depth without overpowering the fruit.

In the mouth, the "Grand Cuvée" reveals a silky and enveloping texture, with fine tannins and a well-balanced acidity which gives the wine a pleasant and long-lasting drink. Ripe fruit flavors integrate perfectly with spicy and balsamic notes, leading to a long and memorable finish.

Winery history
The company's roots date back to the Comte Lafond family, who at the end of the 18th century acquired the vineyards of Château du Nozet in Pouilly. The estate is now owned by the de Ladoucette family, and under the leadership of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette it has expanded to include vineyards and labels in the Sancerre area. The cuvée "Baron de L" was created as the estate's most extreme expression of Sauvignon and is produced only in years considered the best.
Production philosophy
Strong focus on the value of the terroir and on parcel-by-parcel selection; winemaking practices are tailored to individual grapes to enhance the typicity and finesse of the Sauvignon, with the aim of producing bottles of high quality and territorial expression.
