Divine respect for the earth and its fruits. "Nothing from the pig is thrown away!", this is how our grandparents always taught us when we slaughtered the pig at home. An ancient tradition that the Zaccagnini house wanted to respect and maintain with the fruits of the earth.

Not even the pruning of the vine is wasted, so that the grapes are tied to every single bottle. That same branch that cultivated and gave birth to that wine inside the bottle.

Intense ruby red color with violet reflections. Intense, characteristic bouquet of the primary aromas of the vine.

Fruity component, with full and robust body well balanced with the tannic qualities and the aging wood, make it a perfect wine for the whole meal.

A wine poem that brings back memories and traditions. A gift certainly appreciated by those who still believe in handed down values with enthusiasm.

Cantina Zaccagnini – Winery in Abruzzo

Discover the story and wines of Cantina Zaccagnini.

An Abruzzo-based winery focused on indigenous varieties (particularly Montepulciano), known for the "Tralcetto" range with the distinctive vine twig attached to the bottles and for the integration of wine and art.
Region: Abruzzo
Country: Italia
Founded: 1978
Grapes: Montepulciano, Pecorino, Trebbiano, Pinot Grigio, Passerina, Cabernet Franc
Iconic "Tralcetto" line with a vine sprig affixed to the bottle. Strong focus on Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and other native grape varieties. Managing approximately 300 hectares of vineyards in the hills of Pescara. Integration with the Argea Group Exhibition space and art collection at the winery, cultural activities initiated in the 1980s.
Winery history
The winery was established as a family-run business in Bolognano and over time has developed a strong territorial identity centered on native Abruzzo grape varieties and the emblematic "Tralcetto". The company website and promotional materials state that the modern history of the estate begins in 1978; documents from the Argea group cite an alternative date, so public sources disagree on the exact year of foundation. In 2023 Cantina Zaccagnini joined the Argea group; the estate is also known for having transformed its cellar spaces into a venue for art since the 1980s.
Production philosophy
Highlighting the Abruzzo region and its native grape varieties with an approach that blends tradition and modern techniques, the brand also conveys a strong artistic sensibility, presenting visual culture as an integral part of the wine experience.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the hills of Pescara in Abruzzo, in a territory that ranges from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic coast. The estate reports vineyards distributed across the Colli Pescaresi with microclimatic conditions moderated by mountain breezes.
