“Campo del Lago” is a 100% Merlot made with grapes from the vine of the same name facing south and south-east, between 200 and 250 meters above sea level on silty-clayey and calcareous soils. The grapes are harvested manually, destemmed, macerated and then fermented in vertical vats for about 12 days. After the malolactic fermentation in steel, the wine ages in barriques for 12 months.
When poured, it shows a dark ruby red colour. On the nose, it expresses intense aromas punctuated by fruity notes of ripe plums, cherries and mulberries, followed by hints of undergrowth. Slight smoky and spicy hints follow one another, such as cloves and a subtle balsamic note. The sip fills the palate delighting it with its perfect harmony between freshness and lively tannin, an elegant taste on velvety tones. The finish is enveloping and persistent, releasing very pleasant perceptions of coffee and roasted cocoa.
An extremely versatile goblet, perfect in various combinations with red and white meat-based dishes, with different cooking methods and preparations, and with aged cheeses.
