Barolo DOCG - Monvigliero - Oddero represents one of the highest expressions of Barolo produced by the historic Oddero winery. Located in the heart of Piedmont, this winery boasts a long tradition in the production of excellent wines, rooted in a philosophy that combines respect for the territory and the adoption of sustainable viticultural practices.

The "Monvigliero" cru is located in the municipality of Verduno, one of the most prestigious and characteristic places for the production of Barolo. This area is renowned for its calcareous and sandy soils, which give the wine a particular finesse and elegance, standing out for its intense floral aromas and a delicate but complex tannic structure.

Barolo Monvigliero di Oddero is the result of a careful selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes, carefully grown and harvested by hand. The wine ages for several years in large oak barrels, following the Piedmontese tradition, and then completes its maturation in the bottle. This process allows the unique qualities of the Monvigliero vine and terroir to be fully expressed.

At sight, the wine has a garnet red color typical of Barolos, with reflections that tend towards orange with aging. On the nose, intense aromas of red fruits, floral notes of rose and violet emerge, enriched by nuances of spices, leather and tobacco, which reflect the complexity and elegance of the Monvigliero cru.

In the mouth, the Barolo Monvigliero di Oddero shows extraordinary harmony and balance, with silky and well-integrated tannins that support a robust but elegant structure. The acidity is well balanced, contributing to a long and pleasant taste persistence, with a finish that echoes the olfactory sensations and leaves a persistent trace of minerality and finesse.

Ideal in combination with meat dishes, game, mature cheeses and truffle-based dishes, the Barolo DOCG Monvigliero - Oddero is a wine that celebrates tradition and innovation, offering a high-level tasting experience, capable of evolving and grow rich over time.

Winery history
The Oddero family has been in La Morra since the 18th century; the modern estate dates from 1878, when the first Giacomo Oddero began bottling wines under the family name. In the 20th century, the management of Giacomo helped consolidate the estate’s reputation; today the business is run by the next generations, who maintain the family tradition while expanding the vineyards and production.
Production philosophy
The winery aims to express the terroir by working with careful attention in the vineyard and with respect for the environment: organic practices and sustainable management are adopted to showcase the individual crus and preserve the heritage of the Langhe. In the cellar, priority is given to preserving the integrity of the grapes and to aging in large casks for wines that evolve over time.
Terroir and vineyards
Langhe, based in Santa Maria di La Morra; vineyards and grapes sourced from numerous crus of Barolo and Barbaresco, including Brunate, Vignarionda, Rocche di Castiglione, Bussia, Villero and Monvigliero, as well as estates in the Asti area.
