Chimay Brewery

The Chimay brewery has distant origins, it is in fact 1850 when a limited number of monks settled on the uncontaminated and uninhabited plateau of Scourmont, near Chimay, Belgium, and founded the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Scourmont.

The monastery brings luck to the whole area, a farm and a brewery and cheese factory are built, increasing the work and development of the region.

Chimay beer was first brewed in 1863, a Belgian Trappist beer from Wallonia that is still brewed today; its peculiarity is an unfiltered and unpasteurized beer, which referments both in the barrel and in the bottle.

Excellent and world famous, Chimay is among only 11 beer labels that are authorized to sport the hexagonal logo "Authentic Trappist Product", a guarantee for a controlled and authentically Trappist product.
