Kracher Winery

The Kracher family winery produces unsurpassed sweet wines and is located in Austria on the border with Hungary, southeast of Vienna, in Burgenland near Lake Neusiedler. This region has a particular climate which, thanks to the influence of the lake, alternates strong afternoon winds with night humidity which favors the development of the particular noble rot, characteristic of their grapes.

The company includes 7.5 hectares of vineyards and was led until 2007 by Kracher Alois; after his sudden death, the guide passed into the hands of his son Gerhard, who following in his father's footsteps produces alive without comparison.

The production is unique with complex and concentrated types and includes: Chardonnay, Traminer, Schevrebe, and Muskat-Ottonel.

The winery uses a numerical series to distinguish the small batches vinified and focuses particularly on two types of products: Cuvee ', Deerenauslese and Eiswein, or Kollektion, very concentrated sweet wines produced in two ways: "Zwschen den Seen" traditional method with fermentation in steel or wood, and "Nouvelle Vague" produced with the use of new barriques.
