La Lastra Winery

The La Lastra organic winery is immersed in the majestic hilly Tuscan countryside, and more precisely in San Gimignano in the province of the medieval city of Siena which is only 2 kilometers away.

Fresh from a diploma in agriculture and after years of working as wine consultants in the surrounding countryside, in 1994 Nadia Betti with her husband Renato Spanu, Spanu's brother-in-law Christian Betti, and childhood friends Enrico Paternoster and Valerio Zorzi founded the company. the Plate.

With the great passion that distinguishes those who practice agriculture for passion and choice and not for constraint, they take care of the vineyards and olive groves according to the rules of organic farming.

In 2000, the "La Lastra-Marciano" union was born and with the collaboration of this small wine-growing company located close to the historic center, the Agriturismo Marciano was born.

The La Lastra company is spread over two distinct terrains: 7 hectares of vineyards are located in the municipality of San Gimignano where the local grape of "Vernaccia di San Gimignano" is produced and vinified, while 23 hectares of which 7 are vineyards and the same number of olive groves are close to the historic center of the city of Siena, and the wines produced with red berried grapes are vinified in the fascinating and ancient cellar of Marciano.
