Cantina Sandeman

The Sandeman company was founded in 1790 by George Sandeman, it is located in northern Portugal, in the Douro region, the oldest wine production area in the area; a pleasantly warm and sunny land, rich in vineyards that produce grapes of the highest quality.

George Sandeman began trading Portuguese wines in London, at Tom's Coffee House; five years later, he bought a concessionaire in Cadiz and thus began the export of Port Sandeman to Europe, America and Asia. In 1900, the Sandeman Port took part in the Universal Exposition in Paris, shortly after which it achieved worldwide fame and also reached Moscow, Sydney and Johannesburg.

Today the company is led by George Sandeman, homonymous descendant of the founder; an artisan production is still carried out which, added to the experience accumulated over seven generations, make the company the undisputed market leader.

Porto Sandeman in Italy is distributed by Disaronno, and year after year it renews its success, thanks also to skilful innovations and creativity. Sandeman was also the first to brand the boxes containing the precious bottles with the initials of its founder.
