Winery history Bartolo Mascarello

The Mascarello family has been present in the Langhe for generations; Bartolo Mascarello consolidated the winery’s reputation as a bastion of traditional Barolo and, after his death, leadership passed to his daughter Maria Teresa, who maintains the methods inherited from her father.

Production philosophy

A strongly traditional winemaking approach: extended fermentations and macerations, ageing in large neutral casks and a rejection of the widespread use of small barriques. Focus on grape quality and minimal intervention to preserve the expression of the terroir.

Terroir and vineyards

The winery is located in the village of Barolo; the grapes are sourced from historic vineyards and from parcels in renowned crus such as Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Rué and Rocche dell’Annunziata.
