Winery history Borgo Salcetino

The estate was acquired by the Livon family in 1996, when Friulian winegrowers expanded their activities into the Chianti Classico area of Radda in Chianti. Since then the winery has undertaken a renewal of its vineyards and cellar while preserving the area's identity in the production of its main wines.

Production philosophy

The approach combines the Livon family's winemaking expertise with the vocation of the Chianti region: careful yield control, vineyard renewal and respect for the terroir, concentrating production on quality red wines while favoring traditional varieties and selected experimental trials.

Terroir and vineyards

Hills of the Chianti Classico with galestro/schistose-galestro soils; differences in altitude promote a marked day/night temperature variation, considered favorable to the maturation of red wines.
