Winery Cantina Mesa

The company was founded by Gavino Sanna as a project celebrating Sardinia and its native grape varieties. Its history, also recounted in the official brand profile, includes the construction of a modern winery in the Su Baroni area and the development of wine ranges bearing evocative names linked to the territory.

Mesa interprets viticulture as an act of conviviality and authenticity: the name itself, which evokes the "table", encapsulates the idea of nourishment, simplicity and a connection with the Sardinian landscape. The winemaking approach seeks to express the Mediterranean character of the Sulcis with clean, terroir-driven wines.

The winery is located in the valleys of Porto Pino, in the Sulcis-Iglesiente area. The vineyards are largely situated on sandy soils close to the sea: exposure, maritime influence and poor soils contribute to the wines' aromatic and saline character.

Cantina Mesa's wines have been featured and scored in industry guides and magazines; reported ratings include scores of up to approximately 92 points in publications such as Falstaff for wines like Giunco, Opale and Buio Buio.
