Cantine Belisario (Matelica, MC) — winery founded in 1971; about 300 ha of vineyards and a cellar capacity of ~30,000 hl. A major producer of Verdicchio di Matelica; producer of the “Cambrugiano” Riserva.

Winery history Cantine Belisario

Founded in 1971. The Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva “Cambrugiano” has been produced by Cantine Belisario since 1988 (the estate’s Riserva).

Production philosophy

Territory-focused approach: labels tied to dedicated vineyards, vineyards managed close to the cellar, and technical precision in vinification. For Cambrugiano the vinification includes partial cryomaceration and aging in stainless steel and barriques according to the technical sheet.

Terroir and vineyards

Matelica (province of Macerata), Alta Vallesina — hills of the Marche. The winery’s vineyards are located within about 10 minutes of the estate; for Cambrugiano vineyards are at ~400 m a.s.l. with south exposure (technical sheet).

Awards and recognitions

On the official website and in product pages, recognitions for several labels are listed; the winery publishes a series of awards and ratings for recent vintages.
