Winery history Caparzo

Caparzo began in the late 1960s, when a group of wine enthusiasts bought an estate with vineyards in Montalcino. Caparzo’s first vintage of Brunello di Montalcino was 1970. In 1998, the estate was acquired by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini.

Production philosophy

The estate says it pursues quality through meticulous, artisanal production methods, combining respect for Montalcino’s traditions with creativity and innovation.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are in the municipality of Montalcino, across several sites including Caparzo, La Casa, La Caduta, Il Cassero and San Piero-Caselle. The estate gives an altitude range of approximately 220 to 300 metres.
