Winery history Casa Setaro

Casa Setaro was founded as a family project on the slopes of Vesuvius. The Setaro family has passed down traditional knowledge and practices — from Vincenzo to Massimo, with the support of Maria Rosaria — to showcase local grape varieties and revive indigenous ones such as Caprettone. Production focuses on wines that express the Vesuvius terroir, with an emphasis on innovation and the preservation of local know‑how.

Production philosophy

The winery aims for quality and long-term continuity through respect for biodiversity: viticultural practices without herbicides or chemical fertilizers and vineyards managed organically, with attention to soil health and the protection of indigenous grape varieties.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards located in Vesuvius National Park on volcanic soils; the vineyards listed in the technical sheets are situated at around 250–350 m above sea level and benefit from a climate moderated by the Gulf of Naples. The area is part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Awards and recognitions

Casa Setaro wines have received recognition from guides and critics: for example, Terramatta appears with scores from Falstaff and Daniele Cernilli and is noted by Gambero Rosso on the official product pages.
