Winery Castello dei Monaci

The estate is a castle with medieval origins linked to the presence of Basilian monks and underwent transformations between the 16th and 19th centuries. During the 19th century the property passed to families of winegrowers who introduced international grape varieties. Today the estate houses the winery, the Museo Merum and guest accommodations that showcase the area's winemaking tradition.

The winery's production aims to interpret the Salento terroir through local varieties and winemaking that brings out the grape's identity. The estate combines wine production, hospitality and the promotion of local cultural heritage.

Located in the heart of Salento, in an area of rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves that benefits from the Mediterranean climate typical of southern Puglia.
