Winery history Château de Melin

The Castello di Melin is a historic complex whose construction dates back to 1551. Over the centuries it was enlarged and, after various vicissitudes, it was acquired in 1999 by Hélène and Arnaud Derats, who transformed it into a family wine estate with hospitality and winery activities. The estate declares a continuity of viticultural management spanning several generations from the French Revolution to the present day.

Production philosophy

Family-run producer focused on showcasing the Burgundy terroir and on winemaking representative of the individual appellations; the estate emphasizes organic practices and wine tourism hospitality through guided tastings and cellar tours.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in Auxey-Duresses, about 12 km south of Beaune, the estate boasts vineyards mainly in the Côte de Beaune, with some parcels in the Côte de Nuits. The vines are divided into numerous small plots across several communes of Burgundy.
