Winery history Château Maucamps

The property is already mentioned in the 1850 edition of Cocks & Féret. In 1954 Gisèle Tessandier purchased Château Maucamps; after her untimely death her husband Jacques Tessandier carried out significant works, including replanting parts of the vineyard. Over time the family has revitalized the estate, maintaining management focused on quality and the transmission of winemaking knowledge.

Production philosophy

The focus is on faithfully expressing the terroir: parcel-by-parcel winemaking, respect for biodiversity, and practices aimed at reducing environmental impact. Tradition and innovation coexist to produce balanced, age-worthy wines.

Terroir and vineyards

Located in the commune of Macau, in the heart of the Haut-Médoc on the area's typical clay‑gravel soils, the estate combines vineyards, meadows, woodlands and fallow land to promote biodiversity.
