Winery history Domaine du Petit Chaumont

History of a family-run estate: the Bruel family revived and rebuilt the Petit Chaumont vineyard, and Alain Bruel played an active role in the founding of the Vignerons Indépendants. In recent decades the property passed to heirs Brigitte and Nathalie Bruel, who have continued production and hospitality at the winery.

Production philosophy

Respect for the sandy soils and sustainable practices: conversion to organic farming, soil management with herbaceous cover crops to combat erosion, and measures aimed at preserving the fragile terroir.

Terroir and vineyards

Situated in the Sables area of the Petite Camargue, on the border between the departments of Gard and Hérault, near Aigues-Mortes and La Grande-Motte. The soil is characterized by mineralized sand, low elevation and strong maritime influences that moderate temperature variations. The area is part of the Sable de Camargue AOP, recognized in 2023.

Awards and recognitions

Several recognitions at national and international competitions, including gold medals at the Concours Général Agricole in Paris and awards at the Mondial du Rosé.
