A Ligurian winery based in Ortovero (SV), specializing in the white wines typical of the Riviera Ligure di Ponente (Pigato, Vermentino and other local grape varieties), traditional-method sparkling wines, and local red and passito wines.
The Basso family has been involved in viticulture for generations. Initial plantings date back to the 1920s and the present estate was formally established by Antonio Basso in 1978. Today the estate maintains terraced vineyards in the Valle Arroscia and has expanded production and distribution of its wines abroad.
Production philosophy
The estate seeks a balance between respect for tradition and a modern approach: showcasing indigenous grape varieties and steep terraced vineyards, producing wines that express the terroir, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, including the production of sparkling wines aged in natural environments.
