Winery history Enrico Serafino

Founded in 1878 by Enrico Serafino, the winery has a long history, exporting from the early decades of the 20th century and earning international recognition. Over the course of the 20th century ownership changed several times; in 1989 Gruppo Barbero launched the Alta Langa project and, in 2015, the Krause Gentile family assumed ownership while preserving the winery’s artisanal identity. The winery maintains a historic collection of vintages and continues to innovate with projects focused on local grape varieties such as Picotener.

Production philosophy

Based on a "Piedmontese Attitude", the winery emphasizes indigenous grape varieties and the link between grape variety and terroir, applying sustainable practices and processes that prioritize craftsmanship. It produces both structured red wines and Traditional Method sparkling wines.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards distributed across the Langhe, Roero, Monferrato and in renowned communes of Barolo and Barbaresco, with headquarters and historic winery in Canale.

Awards and recognitions

Among the accolades received: Alta Langa "ZERO 140 Pas Dosé 2008" was named Sparkling Wine of the Year 2022 by Doctor Wine; the winery has also won historic medals and awards documented in its archives.
