Winery history Fondo San Giuseppe

The estate is managed by Mariagrazia Rizzati and Stefano Bariani. According to the winery’s documentation, Bariani purchased the estate in 2008, and since then operations have been developed with a terroir-driven, low-intervention approach in both the vineyard and the cellar. Official information and the winery brochure describe small-scale vineyards bordered by woodland to preserve the surrounding ecosystem.

Production philosophy

The winery states that it regards wine as the spontaneous fruit of the land, intervening as little as possible in winemaking: artisanal vinifications, natural fermentations, and a focus on environmental responsibility are at the heart of its production approach.

Terroir and vineyards

Brisighella, subzone Valpiana; silty-clayey, calcareous soils with a marly skeleton. The vineyards lie at around 400 metres above sea level and are adjacent to woodland areas that the estate considers essential to the health of the agro-ecosystem.
