Winery Tenuta Le Potazzine

The name comes from the local nickname "potazzine" that the grandmother used for her granddaughters Viola and Sofia. The business took shape in the early 1990s in Le Prata and expanded through the acquisition of additional plots in subsequent years. The winery is now run by the family. Production focused on naturalness and elegance: spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts, extended macerations, aging in large Slavonian oak casks and attention to the wine’s purity and finesse. In the technical sheets the winery reports organic practices in the vineyards used for its Sangiovese.

The vineyards are located in the Montalcino area. Le Prata faces southwest at around 507 metres above sea level; La Torre faces southeast at around 420 metres above sea level. The training system is Guyot; the grapes for Brunello and Rosso are 100% Sangiovese.
