Winery history Fattoria Mantellassi (Mantellassi)

The Mantellassi family, originally from Pistoia, settled in the Scansano/Magliano area in the 19th century. The modern enterprise took shape in the 1960s with the planting of the first vineyards in Banditaccia. The estate played a decisive role in the process that led to the recognition of Morellino di Scansano as a denomination. Over the years the property and its production have expanded, establishing Mantellassi as a historic presence in the Maremma.

Production philosophy

Enhancing the Maremma through wines that express the characteristics of tuff and limestone soils and local clones, with attention to family tradition, winery innovation and sustainability.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards distributed across the hills of the Maremma in the municipality of Magliano in Tuscany, on predominantly tuffaceous‑calcareous soils. The area includes a variety of exposures and hilltops well suited to Sangiovese/Morellino and other Mediterranean grape varieties.
