Winery history Tenuta Mazzolino

The estate was born from grandfather Enrico’s intuition about hills well suited to Pinot Noir. The estate’s documented history records key milestones beginning in the 1980s with the first production of the "Noir" and technical collaborations that brought the wine to international attention. In subsequent years leadership passed to the next generation, accompanied by Burgundian winemakers and consultants who influenced the production style; the arrival of consultant Kyriakos Kynigopoulos is cited in 1999, and a managerial and technical renewal took place in 2015.

Production philosophy

They work with deep respect for the land and the vines, aiming to produce authentic wines that tell the story of each individual parcel; they state that they follow the principles of organic farming and prioritize practices that protect the vineyard ecosystem.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located in Corvino San Quirico, in the Oltrepò Pavese. The area is described as hilly, with white, gypsum-rich soils historically suited to Pinot Noir, and vineyards laid out in parcels with clearly defined identities.
