Ardbeg Distillery

The Ardbeg distillery, from the Gaelic Ard Beag or "small promontory", is located on the southern coast of the island of Islay, and began its production activity in 1798, while its commercial activity in 1815.

Ardbeg, like other distilleries, sees in its history changes of ownership, adversity and closures. In the 90s the distillery was almost completely renovated and today it is considered one of the most innovative in the world.

Ardbeg strongly believes and supports the "Single Malt" philosophy, producing a whiskey without cold filtering, the result of drying the malt carried out with peat and water from the Arinambeast and Uigedale lakes, and with the use of only two stills , one for each distillation.

The Single Malt Ten Years was awarded in 2008 as the Best Whiskey in the World. Unique and inimitable Single Malts, characterized by the typical scent of salt and seaweed, appreciated by enthusiasts and connoisseurs from all over the world.
