Destiladora San Nicolas

Casa San Nicolás was started by Cirilo Oropeza in the mid-1990s to launch the Espolón project; the brand was introduced in the late 1990s. Destiladora San Nicolas was later acquired by the Campari Group, in an operation reported between 2008 and 2009. Production takes place in the highland area (Los Altos) of Jalisco, using local well water beneath the distillery and combining traditional processes with modern industrial methods.
