Production of Liquore Strega began in Benevento in 1860 when Giuseppe Alberti developed the recipe that would become the family company's icon. Over generations the Alberti family has kept the recipe as a private heritage and expanded into a range of liqueurs and confectionery products. The company is also historically linked to the Premio Strega, established in 1947 with the contribution of Guido Alberti.
