Distillation

Maceration/infusion of botanicals in alcohol followed by distillation (traditional method, with pot/stilled swan-neck stills indicated by sources) and subsequent reduction to drinking strength.

Ageing

Maturation/aging of the distillate in wooden containers (oak vats/barrels) to harmonise the bouquet.

Producer history Distilleria Strega

Production of Liquore Strega began in Benevento in 1860 when Giuseppe Alberti developed the recipe that would become the family company's icon. Over generations the Alberti family has kept the recipe as a private heritage and expanded into a range of liqueurs and confectionery products. The company is also historically linked to the Premio Strega, established in 1947 with the contribution of Guido Alberti.

Production philosophy

To enhance the local liqueur-making tradition by safeguarding a historic recipe, selecting quality raw materials and maintaining family continuity; combining the craft of herbal distillation with products designed for modern bartending.
