Godet

The Godet family has been present in La Rochelle since the 16th century; official Maison sources cite a reference date of 1588 and a documented commercial registration from 1782. Over the centuries the family developed a trade linked to maritime export and the preservation of its eaux-de-vie; the house went through various vicissitudes (including a return to family ownership in the 1990s) and is today led by the fifteenth generation (Jean-Édouard, Maxime and Cyril Godet). The historic headquarters and cellars of the Maison, including the Château de la Sauzaie, are integral to its identity.

Godet emphasizes its connection to the ocean, the preservation of heritage grape varieties (including Folle Blanche, Montils and Colombard) and an approach focused on sustainable viticulture. The Maison states it prioritizes selecting the best eaux-de-vie, skillful blending and producing clean cognacs without additives or added sugars.

Headquarters and cellars in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime department), sourcing from various crus of the Cognac region and with the marine influence typical of coastal vineyards; use of the Château de la Sauzaie for maturation.
