Producer history J.Bally
The brand was founded by Jacques Bally, who in the early decades of the 20th century transformed the Habitation Lajus in Le Carbet (Martinique) into a producer of rhum agricole. From the first half of the century J.Bally became known for the use of barrel aging and for the iconic pyramid bottle designed in the 1930s. By the end of the 20th century production at the original site was reduced or ceased and J.Bally labels were subsequently produced and managed by other distilling facilities on the island; the brand survived through aged releases and vintage bottlings marketed internationally.
