Producer history Paddy
The brand's origins are linked to the Cork Distilleries Company and, according to brand documentation, its roots date back to 1779. The name 'Paddy' derives from Patrick (Paddy) O'Flaherty, a salesman who actively promoted the whiskey in the early 20th century; the bottle was renamed in his honor. During the 20th century the product gained international markets and awards, and in 2016 the Paddy brand was sold to the Sazerac group, which today manages its distribution and bottling.
