Production method

For its limoncello Piemme infuses the peels of Limone di Sorrento I.G.P. in neutral alcohol, adds sugar and bottles the product in its internal laboratory. The infusion and subsequent operations are carried out without additives and usually complete within 4–7 days. For the gin (Costiera Gin) Piemme uses a lemon IGP distillate produced by a specialized distillery.

Producer history Piemme

Founded in 1969 by Sorrentine artisans dedicated to lemon-based specialties, Piemme transformed the traditional limoncello recipe into a benchmark industrial/artisanal product starting in the 1980s. In the 1990s it contributed to the creation of supply-chain structures such as the cooperative Solagri; in 2004 it took part in the foundation of the Consorzio di Tutela del Limone di Sorrento I.G.P. In the following years it expanded its range and image (restyling 2009) and in 2022 launched the Costiera Gin brand.
