Distillation and production

Production method

Fermentation of molasses derived from estate sugarcane, distillation using columns (continuous distillation) complemented by pot‑still distillates; blending and a three-stage ageing process that includes a Solera system articulated in barrels and large oak vats.

Distillation

Continuous column distillation complemented by pot‑still components; the distillates are then blended by the Maestros Roneros.

Ageing

Triple ageing with a Solera process: traditional separate ageing of different spirit types, transfer through lines of barrels (hogsheads) according to the Solera system, and final maturation in large Limousine oak vats.

Producer history Santa Teresa

Hacienda Santa Teresa, located in the Aragua Valley (El Consejo, Venezuela), was founded in 1796 and has been managed by the Vollmer family ever since. Over the centuries the estate developed as a plantation and rum production centre: the current commercial range is the result of family tradition, ageing expertise and established artisanal processes.

Production philosophy

Combine single-estate production from plant to bottle with artisanal ageing and blending practices led by the Maestros Roneros; focus on quality, ingredient transparency and social projects connected to the local community.
