Producer history The Quiet Man
The Quiet Man was created by Ciaran Mulgrew and named after his father, John Mulgrew. The project grew within Niche Drinks in Derry, where the brand matured, blended and bottled its whiskeys: it has been reported as the first whiskey bottled in Derry in more than a century. In 2018 the US group Luxco acquired a controlling stake in Niche Drinks, strengthening the brand's international distribution.
Production philosophy
A tribute to the discreet, respectful bartender: the brand focuses on whiskeys with a sober, accessible character, built on a high-malt mash and a maturation strategy designed to highlight vanilla and woody sweetness rather than extreme aromas.
