Producer history Tullamore

The first distillery in Tullamore was established in 1829; the initials D.E.W. come from Daniel E. Williams, a notable manager of the distillery. Historic production in Tullamore ceased in the 1950s (with the closure of the old distillery in 1954). The brand was acquired by William Grant & Sons in 2010; the group later built a new distillery near Tullamore, inaugurated in 2014, bringing production back to the town of origin.
