Producer history Ypioca

Production associated with the Ypióca name began in the second half of the 19th century, when Dario Telles de Menezes started producing aguardente/cachaça on the estate known as Ypióca, near Maranguape (Ceará). Over time the brand developed into a group that diversified activities (production, bottling, company museum). In 2012 Ypióca was acquired by Diageo, marking the transition from a family business to a brand within a multinational group.

Production philosophy

A combination of historical tradition and industrial-scale production: to highlight the local raw material (sugarcane) and wood aging techniques to offer both white cachaça and reserva/finished expressions.

Territory

Maranguape and the production regions of the state of Ceará, Brazil.
