Albarossa Piemonte DOC comes from grapes from the Olivola vineyards, cultivated on mainly marly and calcareous soils, at an altitude of about 130 m a.s.l.

This Piedmontese wine is the result of a cross between Nebbiolo and Barbera, great native vines that are highly widespread in the area. Albarossa reflects the tradition of Piedmont and its extraordinary terroir in a resolutely fresh and modern style. After the harvest which takes place manually, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and aged for a period of 6 months in barriques, followed by 12 months in large barrels and 4 in glass.

A great red, perfect for any occasion, to be uncorked with family or friends.

In the glass it shows a beautiful intense and deep ruby red color, with good concentration. On the nose there are hints of berries and cocoa, with aromas of blond tobacco and coffee, notes of leather are added. A pleasantly tasty sip, complex and full, with an elegant tannic texture and well blended in the fruity structure.

A fruity wine that goes perfectly with main courses of red and white meat, it is perfect with cheeses and typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine. Absolutely to be tried with baked pork loin.

Part of the Le Tenute del Leone Alato / Leone Alato group.
Winery history
The estate traces its roots to the village of Olivola: the Villa del Bel Riposo was built by Stefano Guazzo in the second half of the 16th century, and in subsequent centuries the property also passed to the Conti Candiani. Winemaking remains a living tradition at the estate, which preserves traces of its noble history by combining historic buildings with modern cellar facilities.
Production philosophy
Faithful to Monferrato's identity, the winery combines precision viticulture and an artisanal approach with the use of contemporary technologies. The winery aims for elegant, distinctive wines, showcasing indigenous grape varieties alongside some experimental projects from Langhe and Gavi.
Terroir and vineyards
Monferrato hills near Casale Monferrato. Marly-calcareous soils; presence of infernot and historic structures of the estate.
