The Barbera d'Alba DOC "Santo Stefano" from Castello di Neive is a distinct expression of the Barbera grape, enriched by the specific terroir of the "Santo Stefano" cru. This label represents the pinnacle of Barbera production for Castello di Neive, highlighting the ability of this vine to convey complexity and elegance when grown in particularly suitable vineyards and managed with careful care.

Located in the heart of Piedmont, in the prestigious Alba area, Castello di Neive manages the Santo Stefano vineyard with agricultural practices aimed at enhancing the quality of the Barbera grape, known for its acidic liveliness and depth of fruit. Particular attention in the selection of grapes and sophisticated winemaking techniques allow us to produce a wine that reflects the unique character of the specific site from which it comes.

The vinification of Barbera d'Alba "Santo Stefano" aims to balance the natural intensity of the grape's acidity with the structure and softness obtained through careful management of fermentation and refinement. The wine is typically matured in oak barriques or tonneaux, which help smooth out the lively edges of the Barbera's acidity and add aromatic complexity without overpowering the fruit.

At sight, the wine has a deep ruby red color, with purple reflections that underline its youth. On the nose, the "Santo Stefano" offers a wide bouquet of aromas, dominated by notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, enriched by nuances of sweet spices, vanilla and a slightly toasted touch, the result of the elegant passage in wood.

In the mouth, the Barbera d'Alba "Santo Stefano" from Castello di Neive stands out for its richness and structure, with an impeccable balance between vibrant acidity and soft tannins. The complexity of the palate develops in a harmony of fruity and spicy flavors, leading to a long and persistent finish, characterized by a pleasant freshness that invites subsequent tasting.

Ideal in combination with red meat dishes, game, mushroom dishes and medium-aged cheeses, the Barbera d'Alba DOC "Santo Stefano" is a superb expression of the potential of the Barbera grape and the Neive terroir, offering a tasting experience that satisfies the palate of wine lovers looking for depth, elegance and territorial typicality.
