Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC is a Piedmontese red wine that represents the excellence of the Barbera vine, one of the most emblematic of the region. The "Superiore" designation indicates a higher level of quality, often achieved through a more rigorous selection of the grapes and a longer aging period, which may include passage in wooden barrels to enrich the wine with aromatic and structural complexity.

A hypothetical "Ace of Pentacles" Barbera d'Alba Superiore could present itself with an intense and lively ruby red color, with possible garnet reflections due to aging. On the nose, this wine would offer a rich and intensely fruity bouquet, with dominant notes of cherry, blackberry and plum, enriched by accents of vanilla, sweet spices and a light toasting, the result of aging in wood.

In the mouth, it would stand out for its robust but balanced structure, with a lively acidity typical of Barbera which contributes to the freshness and drinkability of the wine. The tannins would be soft and well integrated, with a tasting persistence that highlights a long and pleasantly harmonious finish, where fruit and woody notes blend in an elegant balance.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, mushroom-based dishes, medium-aged cheeses and Piedmontese cuisine, a Barbera d'Alba Superiore "Asso di Denari" would be a high-quality expression of the Barbera vine , capable of giving moments of pure oenological pleasure.
