Bin 28 - Penfolds is a robust and structured red wine, celebrated for its richness and its intense expression of the Shiraz grape. Produced by the renowned Australian winery Penfolds, known for its excellence and innovation in the world of wine, Bin 28 represents one of the pillars of their prestigious "Bin" range.

First introduced in 1959 as a wooden barrel-matured Shiraz wine, Bin 28 was later renamed "Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz" in the 1970s, in reference to the famous Kalimna vineyard located in the Barossa Valley, although today the wine is a blend of Shiraz from different Australian wine regions. This multi-regional strategy allows Penfolds to select the best Shiraz grapes from each vintage, creating a wine of extraordinary consistency and quality year after year.

Bin 28 is known for its full, approachable style, with marked fruit intensity and a solid tannic structure. It matures mainly in American oak barrels, which help to develop its complex range of flavors and aromas, including notes of ripe black fruits such as blackberries and plums, spices, chocolate and a light hint of vanilla and black pepper.

At sight, the wine has an intense and deep red color. On the nose, Bin 28 offers a rich and inviting bouquet, which preludes a tasting characterized by a generous concentration of flavors and a long aromatic persistence. In the mouth, the wine is powerful but balanced, with a lively acidity that supports its flavor complexity and ensures excellent aging potential.

Ideal in combination with dishes rich in meat, such as braised meats, stews and grills, Bin 28 - Penfolds is a wine that can be enjoyed at a young age but which will give further satisfaction if left to mature in the cellar.

Winery history
Penfolds was founded in Magill when Christopher and Mary Penfold planted the first vines in 1844. Over the decades the winery grew from local production of fortified and table wines to an international presence, with key moments such as the arrival of Max Schubert and the experimentation that led to the creation of the famous Grange in the 1950s. Today Penfolds combines tradition and innovation, continuing to nurture historic vineyards and select fruit from many regions for its flagship wines.
Production philosophy
The company's approach combines technical rigor and creativity: Penfolds prioritizes the pursuit of the "house style" through site selection, cellar experimentation and a vision that brings together science and craftsmanship to produce age-worthy, distinctive wines.
Terroir and vineyards

Penfolds also has international projects and fruit sources, for example Napa Valley in the United States.
