Bin 389 - Boxed - Penfolds represents one of the most iconic and appreciated expressions of the historic Australian winery Penfolds. Also known as "Baby Grange" due to its maturation in barrels previously used for Grange, Penfolds' most prestigious wine, Bin 389 masterfully combines the structure and complexity of Shiraz with the richness and depth of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Launched in 1960, Bin 389 has become one of the pillars of Australian winemaking, celebrated for both its excellent quality and remarkable aging ability. The grape selection is sourced from several of Australia's leading wine-growing regions, allowing Penfolds to create a harmonious blend that reflects the variety and richness of the Australian wine landscape.

The "Boxed" presentation of the Bin 389 further highlights its prestige and makes it a particularly desirable gift or collectible purchase. This special edition, packaged in an elegant case, celebrates not only the quality of the wine but also the importance of its history and its role in the world wine scene.

Visually, the wine presents itself with a deep and vibrant red color. On the nose, Bin 389 offers an intense aromatic range characterized by notes of ripe red and black fruits, chocolate, spices and a subtle touch of oak, which contributes complexity without overpowering the fruity aromas.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates an extraordinary structure, with robust but smooth tannins and a well-balanced acidity that guarantees freshness and liveliness. Ripe fruit flavors, combined with notes of vanilla, liquorice and a light minerality, lead to a long and persistent finish, a hallmark of Penfolds' mastery in creating long-maturing wines.

Ideal in combination with rich and tasty dishes, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses, Bin 389 - Cased - Penfolds is a wine that continues to conquer enthusiasts and collectors all over the world, offering a rich and memorable tasting experience.

The "Bin" line and other iconic references that represent Penfolds' style. A long historical legacy and a contemporary focus on innovation in the winery.
Winery history
Penfolds was founded in Magill when Christopher and Mary Penfold planted the first vines in 1844. Over the decades the winery grew from local production of fortified and table wines to an international presence, with key moments such as the arrival of Max Schubert and the experimentation that led to the creation of the famous Grange in the 1950s. Today Penfolds combines tradition and innovation, continuing to nurture historic vineyards and select fruit from many regions for its flagship wines.
Production philosophy
The company's approach combines technical rigor and creativity: Penfolds prioritizes the pursuit of the "house style" through site selection, cellar experimentation and a vision that brings together science and craftsmanship to produce age-worthy, distinctive wines.
Terroir and vineyards

Penfolds also has international projects and fruit sources, for example Napa Valley in the United States.
