The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva 2019 from Poggio All'Oro – Banfi is a masterpiece born in the heart of Tuscany, precisely in the renowned Montalcino area. Produced with 100% sangiovese grosso, this wine expresses the excellence of a particularly favorable vintage, characterized by a balanced climate that gave ripe, healthy, and aromatic bunches.

The aging takes place in Slavonian oak barrels, giving structure and complexity, while the subsequent maturation in the bottle allows the wine to develop harmoniously, offering enveloping notes of ripe cherry, plum, tobacco, and slight spicy nuances. On the palate, it stands out for its elegance, velvety tannins, and a vibrant balance that invites long tastings.

Perfect to accompany red meat dishes, game, or aged cheeses, this Brunello represents a complete sensory experience for enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

Winery history
Cantina Santi was founded as a winery in Illasi and has been present in Valpolicella since the 19th century. During the 20th century the Santi family introduced technical innovations and progressively focused on high-end wines; in 1974 the winery became part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which reinforced investments and facilities while preserving its local identity.
Production philosophy
Santi claims a style tied to the sense of place of Valpolicella: it favors the predominant use of Corvina in its selections, aging in large traditional casks, and the use of local woods to enhance the aromatic qualities typical of native grape varieties. The approach combines oenological research with respect for local practices.
Terroir and vineyards
Santi's vineyards and selections are concentrated in Val d'Illasi and the classic areas of Valpolicella, using a vineyard-selection approach across different exposures and microclimates to produce wines that reflect the local terroir. The winery also works with vineyards in other Veronese appellations such as Soave, Bardolino and Lugana.
