The Castel del Monte Riserva DOCG Vigna Pedale, produced by the Torrevento winery, is a red wine that encapsulates the essence of Apulian winemaking tradition, paired with modern vinification techniques aimed at enhancing the qualities of the native grape variety: Nero di Troia. Situated in the evocative and historically rich setting of Castel del Monte, the Torrevento winery expresses through this wine a profound connection with the territory.

The Riserva Vigna Pedale stands out for its characteristic intense ruby red color with garnet reflections that become more pronounced with aging. On the nose, this wine offers a complex and multifaceted bouquet: notes of ripe forest fruits blend with spicy and balsamic hints, enriched by a slight aroma of tobacco and vanilla derived from maturation in wood.

On the palate, the Vigna Pedale surprises with its robust and well-balanced structure. The acidity and tannins are harmoniously integrated, giving the wine a pleasant freshness and a very long-lasting taste. Its evolution in the bottle makes it ideal for prolonged aging, during which the wine continues to develop complexity and depth.

Gastronomic pairings are essential to bringing out the qualities of this wine. It pairs perfectly with structured dishes such as roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. The ideal serving temperature is between 18 and 20°C, allowing the Vigna Pedale to fully express its aromatic potential.

Choosing the Castel del Monte Riserva DOCG Vigna Pedale from the Torrevento winery is a journey to discover an authentic piece of Apulian enology, a selection that promises to satisfy the most demanding palates and collectors of quality Italian wines.

Winery history
The company's history begins with the Liantonio family. In the post-war period—after the purchase of the ancient monastery in Contrada Torre del Vento—the company began to develop its production; from the 1990s it achieved commercial recognition and promoted the Nero di Troia grape with flagship labels such as Vigna Pedale. Company and industry sources cite key milestones linked to the return from migration, the 1948 acquisition of the tenuta and the entrepreneurial growth of the following decades.
Production philosophy
It combines tradition and innovation to enhance Puglia's indigenous grape varieties, focusing on sustainable practices in both the vineyard and the winery. The company declares its commitment to environmental, economic and ethical-social sustainability and adopts certifications and standards for quality and food safety.

Operating in the Alta Murgia at the foot of the UNESCO site Castel del Monte, it sources its grapes from three main areas of Puglia: the Castel del Monte area, the Primitivo/central area and southern Salento.
