Felsina's Chianti Colli Senesi DOC is an authentic expression of the Tuscan territory, perfectly representing the harmony between tradition and quality. Produced in the heart of the Sienese hills, this red wine is predominantly made from Sangiovese grapes, with the possibility of a small addition of other local varieties authorized by the Chianti regulations.

Featuring a vibrant ruby red color, typical of high-quality Chianti, Felsina's Colli Senesi offers a rich and complex bouquet on the nose. Aromas of ripe red fruits blend with delicate spicy notes and a light touch of vanilla, stemming from barrel aging. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured, with a perfect balance between acidity and soft tannins, resulting in a pleasantly lasting aromatic persistence.

Ideal to serve alongside dishes from Tuscan cuisine such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù or Florentine steaks, Chianti Colli Senesi by Felsina also proves to be a versatile companion for aged cheeses and local cured meats.

The winemaking follows traditional methods, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by aging in oak barrels that further enrich the flavor profile without overpowering the freshness and typicality of the Sangiovese.

With an aging potential that allows it to be appreciated even several years after the harvest, Felsina's Chianti Colli Senesi DOC is a true treasure for lovers of Tuscan wines, who seek in every sip the history and character of this extraordinary land.

Winery history
The modern history of the estate took shape in 1966 when Domenico Poggiali purchased the property and began a quality-focused renewal. In the following years the Poggiali family, with the support of winemaking consultants and technicians, developed the vineyards and introduced new winemaking techniques; from the 1980s and 1990s emerged the selections that defined flagship wines such as Fontalloro, Rancia and Colonia.
Production philosophy
Production focused on enhancing native Sangiovese through massal selections, respect for the land and agricultural practices that preserve biodiversity. The estate combines tradition and innovation in the vineyard and cellar, with a focus on traceability and dedicated projects for olive oil as well.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the southeastern edge of the Chianti Classico appellation, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in a transition zone toward the Crete Senesi and the Ombrone valley. The soils are typically calcareous and comprised of laminated marls with sandstone layers, which contribute to the wines' character. The entire property covers extensive grounds, with a portion dedicated to vineyards; the estate uses multiple crus and on-site microclimates to differentiate its labels.
