The Cornas by Mark Haisma is a magnificent example that reflects the excellence of the Rhône Valley. This wine is made with 100% Syrah grapes, renowned for their intensity and depth. The winemaking follows traditional methods, with fermentation taking place in large wooden barrels, allowing the wine to develop a robust and complex structure.

Visually, the Cornas presents a dark red, almost inky color, hinting at its dense and rich character. On the nose, the wine offers an intriguing bouquet of ripe black fruits, dark spices, and a light touch of vanilla and tobacco, stemming from wood aging. On the palate, the Cornas surprises with its power and balance, with well-structured tannins that promise excellent aging potential. The finesse of blackberry, black pepper, and dried herbs aromas will wonderfully complement red meat and game dishes.

Winery history
Born and trained in Australia — including a long, decade-long tenure at Yarra Yering — Mark Haisma moved to Burgundy at the start of his European career and began releasing wines as a négociant with the 2009 vintage. Over the years he has developed his project by establishing his own winery and by acquiring vineyards and a small domaine in Gevrey‑Chambertin toward the end of the 2010s. He is known both for purchasing grapes from trusted local growers and for managing his own parcels, progressively expanding his presence across various subzones of Burgundy, with a few projects also in the Rhône and the Mâconnais.
Production philosophy
A pursuit of purity and balance: rigorous attention to vineyard work, minimal use of oak and winemaking practices that prioritize the expression of place rather than cellar interventions. It favors wines with a fresh, precise palate that reflect each climat.
Terroir and vineyards
