Born on the hills of the Côte Chalonnaise, the Coumières Rouge Traditionnel - Geoffroy elegantly represents the essence of Pinot Noir in the Burgundy region. This wine is made from carefully selected Pinot Noir grapes, grown in a clay-limestone terroir that imparts complexity and finesse to the final product.

The traditional winemaking method involves careful fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, which soften the tannins without masking the varietal freshness. On the nose, it opens with aromas of ripe small red fruits, such as cherry and strawberry, combined with delicate spicy notes and a slightly floral hint reminiscent of wild rose.

On the palate, the Coumières Rouge Traditionnel reveals a harmonious balance of acidity and body, with an elegant structure and silky tannins that accompany a pleasant persistence. Excellent as a companion to dishes based on white meats, light game, or soft cheeses, it best expresses the vocation of its land of origin, offering an authentic and satisfying oenological experience.

Champagne Geoffroy – Winery in Champagne (Vallée de la Marne)

Discover the story and wines of Champagne Geoffroy.

Family-run Champagne house operating as a récoltant-manipulant, with vineyards mainly in Cumières (Premier Cru) and a working cellar in Aÿ. It produces expressive cuvées, benefiting from parcel-by-parcel vinification and technical choices focused on freshness.
Region: Champagne (Vallée de la Marne)
Country: Francia
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir
Vineyards concentrated mainly in Cumières. Declared vineyard area: 14 hectares. Declared varietal percentages: approximately 24% Chardonnay, 34% Pinot Meunier, 42% Pinot Noir. The winery and winemaking operations were relocated to Aÿ in 2008. Winemaking practices focused on preserving freshness and the use of traditional pressing.
Winery history
The Geoffroy family has cultivated vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne since the 17th century. In the early 1950s Roger Geoffroy began bottling under his own name. Management then passed to René and later to Jean-Baptiste Geoffroy, who moved the winemaking and commercial operations to Aÿ in 2008. The house has grown while remaining family-run and involving the next generation.
Production philosophy
Production aims to respect the soil and the vineyard’s expression: minimal vineyard work and winemaking conducted parcel by parcel. In the cellar, priority is given to traditional pressing, gravity transfers and choices intended to preserve freshness. Blending and dosage are decided to enhance the wine’s natural balance.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyard covers 14 hectares, divided into plots across the hills of Damery, Hautvillers, Fleury-la-Rivière and, notably, Cumières, a village classified Premier Cru in the Vallée de la Marne. The land is fragmented into numerous clos and parcels that provide diverse varietal expressions typical of the region.
