The Gavi di Gavi DOCG "La Meirana" produced by the Broglia winery is a white wine that embodies the elegance and refinement of the Piedmont region. With its controlled and guaranteed designation of origin, it assures quality and authenticity, showcasing the Cortese grapes from which it is made.

This wine features a bright straw-yellow color, offering an intense and persistent aromatic bouquet on the nose. The aromas of fresh citrus blend with floral notes and a light minerality, reflecting the typical limestone soil of the Gavi region. The olfactory complexity is enhanced by nuances of white-fleshed fruit, such as peach and pear, which blend perfectly with a touch of aromatic herbs.

On the palate, "La Meirana" by Broglia reveals a medium body and remarkable freshness. The acidity is well-balanced, contributing to a lively and clean sip. The structure is elegant and well-proportioned, with a long and pleasantly harmonious finish that leaves a lingering sense of cleanliness and freshness.

Ideal as an aperitif, this Gavi di Gavi DOCG pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses. It is also an excellent choice to accompany light vegetable dishes or pasta with white sauces.

In terms of aging, "La Meirana" can be enjoyed young to fully exploit its freshness and vitality, but it also possesses a good aging potential thanks to its structure and acidity. When properly stored, it can evolve and gain complexity over the years.

Winery history
The historic estate La Meirana, documented since the year 972, was acquired by Bruno Broglia in 1972; the estate's first Gavi was bottled in the early 1970s. After developing and expanding the vineyards and building a new winery in the 1980s, management passed to the third generation of the family, who continue the activity while maintaining the connection to the historic estate.
Production philosophy
The estate prioritizes the enhancement of indigenous varieties, combining traditional methods with modern technical approaches: temperature-controlled vinification, stainless-steel tanks to highlight minerality and freshness, and experimentation and collaborations with oenologists and academic institutions to improve winemaking practices and local varieties.
Terroir and vineyards
La Meirana is located in the heart of the Gavi area. The vineyard sits on clayey-marly soils with favorable aspects; La Meirana has a predominantly southeast exposure and lies at around 290–300 m above sea level. The area has a long history of Cortese cultivation for the typical white wines of the appellation.
Awards and recognitions
