The Lagrein Alto Adige DOC produced by K. Martini & Sohn is an excellent example of the viticultural skill of the South Tyrol area, renowned for its distinctive and characterful wines. This red wine is made from the native grape variety of the same name, Lagrein, known for its robust tannins and deep aromatic profile.

The wine showcases a very intense ruby red color, almost impenetrable, which leads to a complex nose where notes of ripe wild berries such as blackberries and raspberries emerge, enriched by nuances of dark chocolate and earthy spices like black pepper. On the palate, K. Martini & Sohn's Lagrein surprises with its balanced structure: the acidity is well balanced by soft tannins, making the sip pleasantly harmonious.

Aged in oak barrels for a period that helps to further soften the tannins and enrich the bouquet with tertiary aromas, this wine enhances intensely flavorful red meat dishes, aged cheeses, and complex preparations from South Tyrolean cuisine.

Serve at a temperature of about 16-18 degrees Celsius to fully appreciate its qualities. The aging potential of this Lagrein Alto Adige DOC ensures that its organoleptic characteristics can evolve, promising a tasting experience that can further improve over the years. A contemplative wine, it also proves to be an excellent companion for social gatherings.
